## Description

Wichita Birth Assistance (WBA) is a family-focused birth support organization serving the greater Wichita, Kansas area. Founded in 2010 by Cynthia Barger, WBA connects families with experienced professionals who support informed, individualized choices throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Its Christ-focused mission emphasizes the value of each woman, respect for parents’ decisions, and compassionate care for mothers and babies.

WBA offers skilled midwifery care for low-risk out-of-hospital births, including home births and waterbirths, as well as personalized prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care. The team also provides doula support for home and hospital births, childbirth classes, and gender testing after eight weeks. For families seeking additional resources, WBA can provide referrals to other birth professionals, including obstetricians, chiropractors, massage therapists, and lactation consultants.

The organization’s midwives, montrices, and doulas aim to help clients prepare for birth and build a support team suited to their needs. WBA serves families from its Andover, Kansas office and supports birth choices with an emphasis on education, informed consent, dignity, and respectful care.
