## Description

The Wichita Orpheum Theatre is a historic nonprofit performing arts center situated in downtown Wichita, Kansas. Opened in 1922 and designed by architect John Eberson, it holds the distinction of being the first atmospheric theatre in the United States. The Orpheum is celebrated for its stunning architectural design and rich history, making it a cultural gem within the Wichita community. The theatre presents a diverse array of events, including music concerts, film screenings, comedy shows, dance performances, and theatrical productions, catering to both national and local artistic talent. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Orpheum relies on ticket sales and community support to sustain its operations, fund artist fees, and maintain the venue. Additionally, the theatre offers group sales, private rentals, and educational programs that engage and challenge audiences. Visitors can explore the theatre’s history, access visitor information, and view seating charts through their website, while donations are welcomed to help preserve this iconic landmark for future generations.
