## Description

Launched in August 2022, the project aims to build a comprehensive source of information about the region and its past. Its articles cover local history, culture, settlements, architecture, fortifications, notable people, and historical events, with dedicated sections on subjects including Königsberg, postwar Kaliningrad, military history, industry, and the city’s defensive structures. The site invites readers to contribute knowledge, photographs, corrections, and new articles, encouraging collaborative research and updates to its growing collection. It also offers a search function, topic-based categories, guidance for users, and a Telegram group that shares links to new pages and updates. At the time described, the encyclopedia contained 509 articles. Inspired in part by Wikipedia, wiki-kenig.ru focuses specifically on the history and heritage of East Prussia and Kaliningrad Oblast, making regional information accessible to readers and contributors.
