## Description

**Wikidança: A Collaborative Dance Encyclopedia**

Wikidança is a unique virtual encyclopedia dedicated to the rich tradition and contemporary scene of dance in Brazil. Launched to expand the popular dance portal Idanca.net, Wikidança operates as an open, collaborative platform, allowing users to contribute and share knowledge. Its primary mission is to create a democratic database that highlights the history and ongoing contributions to Brazilian dance.

The platform encourages participation from students in dance programs across the country, providing them with scholarships to research and create entries on local events, significant figures, and institutions. In its inaugural year, Wikidança onboarded 14 scholarship recipients from various esteemed Brazilian universities.

By fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, Wikidança serves not only as a repository of information but also as a community space for dancers, researchers, and enthusiasts. Users can share their insights, contribute to existing articles, and enhance the collective understanding of dance, making it an invaluable resource for anyone interested in this vibrant art form.
