## Description

WikiMetz is a comprehensive and user-friendly online encyclopedia focused exclusively on the history of Metz, a vibrant city in the Moselle region of France. Established in a beta phase in January 2007 and fully operational since December 2022, this initiative was created by a passionate amateur historian aiming to centralize fragmented information about Metz from various blogs and individual websites.

The platform boasts a vast collection of over 337 articles organized into specific categories, covering significant topics such as the city’s notable monuments, transportation systems, historical events, and cultural aspects. WikiMetz serves as an invaluable resource for anyone interested in the rich tapestry of Metz’s past, providing well-sourced content compiled from diverse encyclopedic, historical, and cultural references.

As a citizen-driven project, WikiMetz emphasizes its independence from political affiliations and institutional dependencies, making it a reliable public knowledge base for scholars, students, and residents alike.
