## Description

WikiTree is an online platform dedicated to building a comprehensive and accurate single family tree that connects people from all over the world. With a strong emphasis on privacy and collaboration, WikiTree enables individuals to connect with their common ancestors and collaborate with their close family members on modern family history. As the research goes back in time, privacy controls open up, allowing collaboration among distant cousins who are committed to thorough genealogical research and verification through DNA validation. By fostering collaboration and connectivity, WikiTree is creating a unified family tree that preserves our shared history and makes our genealogy accessible to everyone, free of charge, for eternity. Founded in 2008 by Chris Whitten, WikiTree is hosted by Interesting.com, Inc. With a strong commitment to keeping the platform free, WikiTree operates as an ultra low-cost operation, powered by the contributions of its community members.
