# Willem de Boer huis - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `willemdeboerhuis.nl` ## Description Willem de Boer Huis – Hospice Hoogeveen is a welcoming hospice in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands, providing a calm, supportive place for people in the final stage of life. Its purpose is to offer guests comfort, privacy and a sense of security during their last days. The hospice welcomes people of every age, social background and life philosophy, and serves guests from the surrounding region as well as from further afield. Alongside longer stays, the house can arrange a short, agreed period of residence for someone in a terminal phase, giving family members and other loved ones time to rest. The organisation provides palliative care in a home-like setting and shares information about visiting, overnight stays, costs, facilities and privacy. Its work is supported by volunteers and donations. The hospice opened in Hoogeveen in 2006 with financial support from the C&W de Boer Foundation.
