## Description

Wings of Mercy, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides free medical flights for patients who need long-distance transportation to or from medical destinations. Its mission is to help people reach treatment without the financial burden of commercial air travel, offering support to patients and their families during difficult circumstances. The organization works with patient advocates, who can help connect patients with information and resources, and pilots who volunteer their time and skills to fly missions. Wings of Mercy also invites donors to support its flights through one-time or monthly contributions; the organization notes that a $75 monthly donation supports one average-distance mission per year. Its work depends on aircraft, equipment, volunteers, and community support. In addition to arranging flights, Wings of Mercy shares guidance for patients, including what to expect and how to apply, and provides a flight tracker. The organization also engages the community through news, events, and fundraising activities, including runs and aviation events.
