## Description

WintersAssen is a seasonal ice rink and winter activities initiative that brings winter fun to the centre of Assen, the Netherlands. Its programme combines public skating with activities for families and young people, creating a welcoming place to enjoy the winter season. Visitors can skate daily during the rink’s operating period, relax in the skating café, and take part in curling arrangements. Friday evenings feature youth DJ events, with skating priced at one euro per person. WintersAssen also organises school skating sessions, introducing children to the sport; more than 3,000 children take part in these sessions. Schools and other institutions can register through the organisation. For businesses, the rink offers sponsorship opportunities and a platform to reach visitors and regional newspaper readers during the busy Christmas period. Sponsors can also participate in curling evenings, which provide a group activity for companies. The rink is designed to be energy-efficient and is specially created for Assen’s Koopmansplein. WintersAssen is run by Stichting WintersAssen and supported by sponsors, volunteers, suppliers, and other partners.
