## Description

The World Association of Mining Lawyers (WAOML) is a membership organisation that connects legal professionals working in mining and natural resources. Founded by mining-focused lawyers from international firms, it welcomes members from law firms and in-house legal teams at mining and service companies. WAOML’s mission is to advance knowledge of mineral regulation worldwide and encourage informed discussion of legal issues related to mineral exploration and mining.

Through conferences, webinars, publications and member resources, the Association provides a forum for exchanging ideas on mineral law, policy and regulation. Its work brings together lawyers, academics, policymakers, governments, civil society organisations and researchers to consider challenges in the global raw materials sector and contribute to sensible regulatory guidance. WAOML also promotes dialogue between policymakers and industry stakeholders on approaches that treat communities, the environment, governments and mining companies fairly.

Its annual conference is a major gathering for the global mining law community, featuring discussions of legal, fiscal and social issues across regions.
