## Description

Wisent Wildnis Wittgenstein gGmbH is a conservation and nature-education organization based in Bad Berleburg, Germany. Its central project, the Wisent-Wildnis am Rothaarsteig, gives visitors the opportunity to observe European bison living in a natural setting. Since 2011, a small herd at the site has contributed to species conservation by providing an additional population reserve. The organization also shares information about bison recovery, genetics, biodiversity, climate protection and the animals’ role in ecosystems.

Visitors can explore the wildlife area, learn about the herd and discover the project through an exhibition in Bad Berleburg. The nearby Naturerlebniszentrum supports learning and educational activities, while the site also offers a nature-themed adventure playground for children. Practical visitor information includes opening times, admission prices, directions and educational materials. The Wisent-Hütte, located beside the entrance, provides a place to visit, and the organization offers souvenirs and information about nearby accommodation. Through visitor experiences, education and conservation initiatives, Wisent Wildnis Wittgenstein connects people with the bison and the wider natural environment.
