WorkingInTheSchools (WITS) is a dynamic brand that brings together educators, volunteers, and investors dedicated to serving elementary students in Chicago Public Schools. At WITS, our mission is to empower students through meaningful educational programs and support. With a wide range of programs and resources, WITS offers valuable opportunities for volunteers to make a positive impact in the lives of young learners.

Our Student Programs provide volunteers with various options, including Mid-Day Mentoring Program, Study Hall Teachers, WITS Kindergarten, and Workplace Mentoring. These programs allow volunteers to engage students in reading activities, provide academic support, and foster positive relationships. In addition to our on-site programs, WITS also offers online resources for students and volunteers.

Our Online Literacy Activities provide interactive reading experiences, such as Read Aloud sessions featuring popular books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Goosebumps Ghost Camp, and Spanish-language options. We also offer the WITS Kindergarten Online program, which focuses on early childhood literacy development.
