WITS Ireland, short for Women in Technology and Science Ireland, is a national independent voluntary organization that was founded in November 1990. Their mission is to actively promote women in technology and science in Ireland. Over the years, WITS has played a crucial role in informing and educating, completing various projects, organizing events, and publishing two books that celebrate the lives and achievements of women in STEM fields.

WITS members come from diverse backgrounds in STEM, including industry and academia, and vary in age and experience from third-level students to esteemed senior academics and business professionals. Notably, WITS is proud to have President Michael D. Higgins as its patron.

The organization's efforts are guided by an elected executive committee, and their strategic plan for 2021-2025 aims to recruit, retain, return, revere, and remember women in STEM. WITS also provides networking opportunities through regular events, fostering the exchange of experiences and ideas within the community
