WMPC, also known as Foster Kent Kids, is a brand that focuses on providing foster care services in West Michigan. They work in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and five private foster care agencies in Kent County: Bethany Christian Services, Catholic Charities West Michigan, D. A.

Blodgett-St. John’s, Samaritas, and Wellspring Lutheran Services. Foster Kent Kids offers a range of services, including finding caring homes for children who have been removed from their families due to abuse or neglect.

They prioritize finding foster parents for teenagers, sibling groups, and medically fragile youth. The process to become a foster parent with Foster Kent Kids involves attending an orientation, filling out an application, participating in home visits and interviews, completing background checks, and fulfilling foster parent pre-licensing training. Licensing typically takes four to six months to complete.

Besides becoming a foster parent, there are other ways to support Foster Kent Kids and the children in their care. You can become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to speak on behalf of a child in foster care, become a mentor, or offer respite care to foster families. Additionally, making donations of items or cash to local agencies can greatly benefit the children in foster care.
