Women's Arts Institute Africa, also known as WomenArts, is a non-profit arts service organization dedicated to increasing the visibility of women artists in all art forms. Founded in 1994 by Martha Richards, this organization has raised over $4 million and provided free networking, fundraising, and advocacy services to over half a million visitors annually for more than two decades. WomenArts believes in the power of women artists to create, connect, and change the world. They share news about trailblazing women artists and gender parity activists throughout the year through their WomenArts Blog and Facebook page. In collaboration with the Statera Foundation, WomenArts coordinates Support Women Artists Now Day/SWAN Day, an annual international holiday celebrating women's creativity in all its forms.
