## Description

Women in Technology is a Slack community connecting women and gender-diverse people who work in, or are interested in working in, the technology sector. Founded in Toronto, Ontario, the community welcomes members from around the world and has grown to more than 5,000 participants. It is open to female-identifying, genderqueer, gender-fluid, and non-binary people, and is intended as a dedicated space for women and gender-diverse members.

Members can share personal stories, events, GIFs, advice, and support, and connect with people across a range of technology roles, including development, marketing, product, strategy, and content. The community also points visitors to external organizations and initiatives such as Women and Tech, Tech Ladies, Girls in Tech, Toronto Girl Geeks, Girl Develop It, and DevTO. People can join through the community’s sign-up process and suggest additional resources after joining. Administrators are based in Toronto and can be contacted for questions or to share relevant announcements with the community.
