Words as Medicine is the creative hub of Christina Baltais, an artist, writer, and advocate for people living with myalgic encephalomyelitis, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Through the site, Christina brings together her projects and social channels, using art to communicate personal experience and raise awareness of a life-altering illness. Her work spans painting, photography, writing, and art videos, with an emphasis on making the challenges of ME/CFS more visible and encouraging conversation within and beyond the ME community.

The platform is rooted in Christina’s own experience: she developed ME/CFS at age 20 and continued her university studies with significant accommodations. Words as Medicine aims to offer people affected by the illness comfort, validation, and a sense of connection, while supporting community and advocacy.
