# Word Up North - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `wordupnorth.org.uk` ## Description Word Up North is a Yorkshire-based literature development organisation dedicated to raising up voices, stories and writers across the north of England. A registered charity and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, it uses the written and spoken word to encourage creativity and help create positive change. Its work fosters a love of reading and writing among individuals and communities through programmes for writers, young people and local communities. Word Up North also shares literary events, activities and online content, and invites people to support its work through donations and participation. A major part of its programme is the annual Ilkley Literature Festival, which it programmes and describes as the longest-running literature festival in the north. The organisation’s activities connect audiences with literature while creating opportunities for people to develop and share their own writing and stories. Established in 1973, Word Up North continues to champion the power of words through its events and community-focused work. ## Industries - 🍿 Arts and Entertainment - 🍿 Books and Literature _(under Arts and Entertainment)_ - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 Literature _(under Science and Education)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/TheWordUpNorth) - [instagram](https://instagram.com/thewordupnorth) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idFW_Bs9ER/w/180/h/180/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793190540561) - icon _(primary)_ — JPEG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idFW_Bs9ER/w/640/h/640/theme/dark/icon.jpeg?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1793190540758) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Bitter Lemon | #e3de0d | accent | | Blue Stone | #035c66 | dark | | Carnation Pink | #ff99db | light | ## Fonts - Mango — asset _(custom)_ - GeneralSans — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
