About
Description
Working America is a brand that unites working people who do not have a union on the job. With over 3 million members in both urban and suburban communities, Working America strives for good jobs, a fair economy, and a democracy that represents everyone. Established in 2003 as the community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, Working America ensures that the priorities of working people, their families, and communities are heard all the way from local government to the national stage.
They conduct door-to-door campaigns, emphasizing the strength in numbers, to demand action on various issues including good jobs, healthcare, education, and social security. Working America has successfully campaigned for higher minimum wages and the implementation of paid sick leave and family leave in numerous cities and states. Additionally, they have fought against trade deals such as the Trans Pacific Partnership and actively opposed Right to Work legislation.
By working collectively, they strive for a better future for working people across the country
