## Description

World Animal Day is a global animal welfare initiative that brings together people and organisations to raise the status of animals and encourage better welfare standards around the world. Its annual observance on October 4 provides a platform for supporters to share ideas, increase awareness and take action for animals. The initiative promotes participation through events held in different countries, with a world map that helps visitors explore activities and a facility for organisers to submit their own events. Its website also shares news, stories, resources and a social media toolkit to help people plan activities and spread the message. Visitors can learn about the annual theme, connect with ambassadors and find information about grants. World Animal Day invites individuals and communities to contribute, emphasising that everyone can make a difference and that collective action can create change. It also offers a newsletter and social media channels for ongoing updates and engagement.
