## Description

The World Bosai Forum is a dedicated initiative focused on advancing disaster risk reduction and enhancing global disaster resilience. Founded with the humanitarian vision of its chairperson, Hirohisa Ono, who experienced the aftermath of disasters firsthand, the Forum aims to alleviate suffering caused by disasters and to foster an inclusive platform for collaboration among various stakeholders.

Established following the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Forum plays a pivotal role in promoting the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, emphasizing education and awareness for future generations. It encourages participation in external events, engages in policy advocacy, and awards the World Bosai Prize for exemplary disaster risk reduction efforts. The organization operates from the International Research Institute of Disaster Science at Tohoku University, underscoring its commitment to scientific approaches and community engagement.

Through partnerships and initiatives, the World Bosai Forum strives to translate experiences and lessons learned into actionable strategies, promoting a resilient society prepared for future challenges.
