## Description

World Medical Aid is an Italian nonprofit humanitarian association working to provide medical and surgical assistance in Africa and in communities facing serious economic and social hardship. Its activities include volunteer health missions, with a particular focus on ophthalmology, as well as eye-care screenings and surgical support. The association’s projects have reached countries including Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Cameroon, and its website reports missions and assistance for local communities and children.

Alongside its international work, World Medical Aid supports people in Italy through community initiatives. These include health screening events, food parcel donations and the provision of equipment and funds for medical services. The association also promotes distance sponsorship and support for children, including those connected with the Shalom orphanage in Ayamé, Côte d’Ivoire. Its website shares project updates, volunteer stories and information about upcoming missions, and invites visitors to donate or become members. Through these activities, World Medical Aid brings together medical volunteers and supporters to expand access to care and practical assistance.
