## Description

World Milk Day, established in 2001 by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, is celebrated annually on June 1 to underscore the significance of milk as a staple food source and to highlight the dairy sector's contributions to global nutrition and livelihoods. With a focus on quality nutrition, the 2024 theme emphasizes the vital role dairy plays in nourishing communities around the world.

The initiative advocates for the accessibility and affordability of dairy products, promoting their nutrient-dense attributes as essential elements of balanced diets. Engaging activities occur globally, particularly through social media, where participants are encouraged to share personal stories and sustainable farming practices using hashtags like #WorldMilkDay and #EnjoyDairy. The platform invites dairy farmers to contribute short videos showcasing sustainability efforts, reinforcing community support for the dairy industry. As a champion for dairy, World Milk Day fosters connections and celebrates the industry's impact on food sovereignty and sustainable diets for all.
