## Description

Founded in 1901, the Welsh Pony & Cob Society is Britain’s largest native breed society, with members around the world. The Society promotes and preserves Welsh Ponies, Cobs and Part Breds, supporting the continued recognition of their heritage and versatility. Based at Bronaeron in Ceredigion, its office is open to visitors on weekdays, and the organisation provides information about the Welsh breeds, their history, breed descriptions, education and welfare.

The Society offers practical services for owners and breeders, including registration, overstamping, transfers of ownership, duplicate passports, passport amendments, DNA and licensing, microchipping, gelding records and lease or loan arrangements. Members can access forms, guidance, governance information and the Society’s shop, as well as updates through its official sales journal and news pages.

The Welsh Pony & Cob Society also supports the breed community through area associations, young people’s activities, judging resources, competitions, awards and show information. Its official sale and events provide further opportunities for participation, while its work is guided by Society policies, rules and governance.
