## Description

Writer Beware® is an invaluable resource for writers, aspiring and established alike, offering a wealth of information to protect themselves from scams and exploitation in the publishing industry. Sponsored by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA®), Writer Beware® was founded in 1998 to expose and raise awareness about schemes, scams, and bad practices in publishing. Their comprehensive website provides warnings about literary scams, along with helpful tips on how to recognize and avoid them. The accompanying blog offers real-time coverage of scams, industry news, and other writerly interests. Writer Beware®'s very active Facebook page and Twitter feed provide links to additional writing-related articles, news items, and a platform for discussion. The volunteer team behind Writer Beware® diligently maintains an extensive database of questionable agents, publishers, and other services, providing writers with a free research service and supporting law enforcement agencies in their investigations. With their dedication to public awareness and protection, Writer Beware® serves as a beacon of support and guidance for the writing community.
