## Description

COST Action CA18126, also known as Writing Urban Places, is an innovative initiative dedicated to enhancing understanding of communities through narrative methods. This brand focuses on the potential of storytelling and literary approaches to foster urban development, particularly in medium-sized European cities. By valuing local narratives that reflect citizens' socio-spatial practices, the Action seeks to integrate literary studies, urban planning, and architecture to promote progressive redevelopment policies.

The project features multiple working groups that delve into science communication, theoretical frameworks, and methodological frameworks, providing essential outputs such as webinars, workshops, and an extensive repository of methods for writing about urban spaces. Three core thematic targets guide their efforts: improving community understanding of built environments, empowering local residents to express their feelings about these spaces, and offering tools for collaboration among communities. Through this multifaceted approach, Writing Urban Places not only preserves the richness of local cultures but also actively contributes to the sustainable development of urban environments across Europe.
