## Description

World Top Martial Arts (WTMA) is a martial arts school based inside Fitness 2000 Athletic Club in Burnaby, British Columbia, serving students from Burnaby, Vancouver, Coquitlam, and the Lower Mainland. Led by chief instructor Shihan Navid Ghorbanpour, the school welcomes children, adults, beginners, and experienced martial artists. Its teaching combines traditional martial arts with modern fighting fundamentals, emphasizing steady progress, discipline, fitness, confidence, practical judgement, and respect.

WTMA offers five training paths: Shotokan karate, kickboxing, grappling, mixed martial arts, and women’s self-defence. Classes cover skills such as striking, ground control, takedown defence, movement, and practical responses to challenging situations. Kickboxing training draws on Muay Thai, traditional kickboxing, Western boxing, and karate, with drills, pad work, and light sparring. Children’s karate is taught by instructor Mayumi Ochiai Ghorbanpour, who focuses on clear instruction and patient correction. The school also offers private or semi-private training. Prospective students can request a free trial class and guidance choosing a program. Classes follow a published schedule, and month-to-month payments are available without long-term contracts.
