## Description

Wyalong District Family History Group Inc. (WDFHG) is a community organisation that has supported genealogists researching local families and history since 1994. Based in Wyalong, New South Wales, the group maintains archives of registers, lists and other resources covering towns across the Bland Shire, including Wyalong, West Wyalong, Barmedman, Ungarie and Weethalle. Its work helps researchers explore the district’s stories, from early settlement and the discovery of gold in 1893 to the area’s continuing history and industry. The group offers research services and accepts research requests, alongside membership for people interested in family history. It also publishes the Mallee Stump journal, available in current and past issues, and provides publications and grave photographs through an order service. Members’ interests can help visitors identify potential family connections. Current projects include updating information about local cemeteries and investigating unmarked graves; volunteers are welcome. WDFHG acknowledges the Wiradjuri people, who have lived on these lands and along local rivers for more than 40,000 years.
