The brand was established by Christie and Dick Reed, who moved to Hood River in 1992 and purchased Blue Chip Farm and Vineyard a year later. Today, the old fruitstand has been transformed into a charming tasting room, while an old barn serves as the winery. Dick manages the vineyard and pear orchard, while Christie assists in the tasting room and handles bottling and financial matters. Their eldest daughter, Keely Reed, has also joined the family business as the General Manager. With her extensive experience in the wine industry, she brings a fresh perspective and dedication to maintaining the brand's high standards. Peter Cushman, a third-generation Oregon winemaker, joined Wy'East as the winemaker in 2012. His expertise and passion for winemaking shine through in the exceptional quality of wines produced at Wy'East. Glen Pearce, with his extensive knowledge of the Gorge wine industry, assists with wholesale accounts and group tours. Kelly Asbridge, the Wine Club Manager, ensures that the Wine Club operates smoothly, providing a top-notch experience for members. Jen Kevil oversees events and social media to create memorable experiences for visitors.
