## Description

Xaga Surgical is a Sweden-based medical technology company focused on clinically driven innovation in biopsy procedures, infection prevention, and antibiotic resistance. Its first major development, the Forsvall Biopsy System, is designed specifically for prostate biopsies and was developed in a hospital by urologists for urologists. The system includes a patented 18G biopsy needle, 25 cm in length, and a reusable biopsy gun. The needle is engineered to travel more directly through tissue, helping reduce deviation and improve targeting. Xaga reports that its design reduces bacterial transfer by 96% compared with a standard Tru-Cut needle in transrectal prostate biopsy, while collecting non-inferior biopsies. The system is intended to fit familiar clinical workflows, with intuitive loading and sample extraction. Xaga highlights potential value for urologists, pathologists, nurses, patients, and healthcare payors. The Forsvall Biopsy Needle System has EU MDR CE certification and U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance. Xaga Surgical also reports that further products are in development, building on its research into biopsy precision and infection control.
