## Description

Mattie Colquhoun is a multifaceted writer and photographer based in Hull, UK, recognized primarily for their in-depth analyses of cultural theorist Mark Fisher's work. Their debut book, "Egress" (2020), probes the themes of community and grief following Fisher's death, establishing Mattie's voice in contemporary discourse. Following this, they edited "Postcapitalist Desire," a collection of Fisher's lectures, and released "Narcissus in Bloom" (2023), which offers a fresh perspective on narcissism as a reflection of political unrest rather than mere postmodern pathology.

With a BA in Photographic Art and an MA in Contemporary Art Theory, Mattie is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at Newcastle University, focusing on the Orphan as a key conceptual figure in 20th-century philosophy. They have shared their insights across Europe and contribute to various creative channels, including the blog Xenogothic. Mattie's photographic work has been showcased both nationally and internationally, reflecting their profound engagement with art and theory.
