## Description

Dammåns FVO is a fisheries management association responsible for the Dammån fishing area in Jämtland, Sweden. Established in 1952 as Dammåns fiskevårdsförening, it adopted its current name in 1988, when Dalsjön was added to the fishing permit area. The association manages fishing permits and sales, oversees fishing inspections, and maintains local fishing paths and shelters. Its conservation work includes restoring river stones that provide shelter and resting places for migrating fish, controlling predators such as mink and pike, and releasing young trout into nearby waters. It also operates and monitors the fish ladder at the Dammån power station, recording trout as they travel upstream to spawn.

Dammån is known for its cold, flowing water and sought-after trout, as well as grayling, perch, roach and pike. Fly-fishing and spinning are popular ways to fish the river. Nearby Dammåns Camping, now run by new owners, offers a restaurant, cabins, and pitches for caravans and tents, providing accommodation for visitors to the area.
