## Description

Amarkosh is a dedicated online platform aimed at preserving and promoting Bharatiya languages by providing comprehensive dictionaries across various regional languages. Established by Vinod Singh on the second Monday of the Shravan month in Vikram Samvat 2077, the initiative emerged from his passion to cultivate an extensive resource for linguistic diversity in India. Originally featuring Hindi and English dictionaries, the site has since expanded to include a variety of Bharatiya languages, addressing the urgent need for modern techniques in language preservation.

Amarkosh recognizes that culture and language are inseparable; the extinction of a language often leads to the vanishing of its associated culture. As a result, this platform is not just an educational tool, but also a cultural safeguard. The dictionaries on Amarkosh are primarily based on the Indo Wordnet, compiled by IIT Bombay, and represent a collaborative effort to enhance language accessibility while fostering cultural continuity. Discover a wealth of linguistic knowledge at Amarkosh, where every word carries the essence of Indian heritage.
