Xylon Computer Service, founded by Florian Doerfler, is a family-owned IT company that has been in operation for three generations. Florian's grandfather, a dedicated civil servant in Graz, Austria, played a significant role in the establishment of the Rechenzentrum Graz (Graz Computing Center) in 1956, immersing himself in the possibilities of early computer technology. In 1963, the center received the largest computer in Austria at that time, the SPERRY UNIVAC 490, albeit with a delay due to a mishap during unloading.

Continuing the family legacy, Florian's father further expanded their involvement in the IT field, joining Mannesmann Düsseldorf in 1969 and contributing to the formation and operation of Mannesmann Datenverarbeitung GmbH, Ratingen. Florian's personal journey with computers began in 1975, when his father introduced him to the UNIVAC 422 training computer. This sparked Florian's interest, leading him to explore more programming languages and eventually establish Xylon Computer Service.
