## Description

**Description:**

The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a pioneering nonprofit organization established in 1986, dedicated to advancing the therapeutic potential of psychedelics and marijuana. With a mission to create safe medical, legal, and cultural frameworks for these substances, MAPS has played a crucial role in progressing psychedelic research, notably focusing on treatments for PTSD through innovative MDMA-assisted therapy.

Over the years, MAPS has garnered more than $140 million in support from philanthropic donors, enabling it to sponsor groundbreaking clinical trials and educational initiatives. The organization has also nurtured various projects, such as Lykos Therapeutics, aimed at drug development, and The Zendo Project, a leader in harm reduction. MAPS actively engages in policy reform and advocacy efforts to promote equitable access to psychedelic therapies, striving for a future where these treatments are available to all who need them.

With an inclusive vision, MAPS continues to shape public perception and understanding of psychedelics as valuable tools for healing and personal growth.
