YALI RLC WA, part of the Young African Leaders Initiative, is a brand launched by the United States Government to invest in the future generation of African leaders. Their mission is to empower young men and women, aged 18 to 35, from Togo, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, who are ready to embrace leadership and drive positive change in their countries. The flagship program of YALI RLC WA is the Emerging Leaders Program, which focuses on teaching young African leaders about modern leadership.

This program consists of four phases: an online coursework phase, followed by a mentorship program, internship or community service, and a report-writing period. The coursework phase covers three core courses - Leadership and Accountability, Ethics, and Contemporary issues affecting Africa - and participants can select one elective course from three available themes: Entrepreneurship, Public Policy and Management, or Civil Society Management. With a strong emphasis on providing essential knowledge and hands-on experience, YALI RLC WA is committed to equipping young African leaders with the skills needed to make a lasting impact on their communities and drive positive change on the continent
