## Description

Yamaha Guitar Development (YGD) is Yamaha’s guitar-focused platform, sharing the company’s work, history, artists, and creative projects. Its content highlights acoustic, nylon-string, electric, and bass instruments, as well as amplifiers, custom guitars, design, and technology. Through the Yamaha Guitar Development Custom Shop in Calabasas, Los Angeles, the team collaborates with musicians to create distinctive instruments shaped around their sound and artistic vision. Featured projects include custom guitars and basses developed with artists such as The Smashing Pumpkins’ members and bassist Miki Santamaria.

YGD also connects players with the stories and ideas behind music-making. Its artist interviews explore musicians’ careers, inspirations, instruments, and approaches to performance, while its instructional Trading Licks series offers guitar-focused lessons on chords, scales, and improvisation. Articles and videos cover Yamaha’s guitar heritage, including historic instruments and prototypes from its archive in Hamamatsu, Japan. With news, artist features, custom builds, educational material, and archival stories, Yamaha Guitar Development presents a broad view of Yamaha’s guitar and bass culture for musicians and enthusiasts.
