# Yawara-Rotterdam - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `yawara-rotterdam.nl` ## Description Yawara-Rotterdam is a Ju-Jutsu club focused on practical self-protection, personal resilience and character development. Founded in 2017, it offers training in a welcoming, respectful environment, with small groups and instruction for beginners and experienced participants alike. The club is affiliated with the Yawara Ju-Jutsu Federation, and its instructor holds a fifth Dan and an NOC-NSF-recognised level 3 trainer-coach qualification. Training combines four key areas: recognising potential danger, maintaining composure and control, developing reflexes and timing, and using communication and de-escalation to prevent conflict where possible. Adults aged 15 and over can train on Wednesday evenings in Barendrecht. On Friday evenings in Nieuwe Tonge, sessions are open to young people aged 12–15 and adults. A free trial lesson is available at either location. Alongside weekly classes, Yawara-Rotterdam provides tailored clinics and workshops for companies, associations and groups.
