# yeastrc.org - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `yeastrc.org` ## Description The Yeast Resource Center (YRC) was a Biomedical Technology Research Center supported by the U.S. National Institutes of Health and based at the University of Washington, with affiliations at the University of Washington’s Departments of Genome Sciences and Biochemistry and The Scripps Research Institute’s Department of Chemical Physiology. Its work focused on developing and applying technology to address biomedical research questions. The YRC’s expertise included methods for perturbing and sensing changes in complex pathways, detecting and quantifying proteins by mass spectrometry, and analyzing higher-order protein structure. It also developed biosensor approaches, including ligand-binding-domain sensors illustrated with digoxin and progesterone, and combined cross-linking mass spectrometry with structural modeling to study protein complexes. The center shared research publications, software, protocols, tutorials, training resources, and information about strains and plasmids. It offered opportunities for researchers to collaborate and access its technology and expertise, and reported supporting projects and collaborators across its history.
