## Description

The Yemen Data Project (YDP) is an independent, not-for-profit initiative dedicated to collecting and disseminating accurate data regarding the ongoing conflict in Yemen. Established in 2016, YDP aims to enhance transparency and accountability among the involved parties by providing reliable information in the absence of official military records. The project utilizes the expertise of trained Yemeni data collectors, who operate anonymously for their safety, and is supported by philanthropic organizations like Open Society Foundations.

YDP's mission includes informing humanitarian responses, human rights advocacy, media coverage, and policy discussions, all while maintaining neutrality and independence from any political affiliations. The project has garnered substantial pro bono contributions and seeks additional funding to sustain its essential operations. Through the leadership of seasoned journalists and researchers, YDP continues to expand its comprehensive database, making pivotal information accessible to a global audience committed to fostering awareness about the humanitarian implications of the conflict.
