## Description

Youth For Christ Hockey League (YFCHL) is a Saskatoon youth program that uses hockey to build hope, belonging and lasting relationships. Founded in 2009 by youth worker Kim Worthington, the league was created to help inner-city young people take part in hockey despite limited resources. Its mission is to bring hope to students through the sport, while encouraging them to thrive in life as well as on the ice. The program now brings together more than 60 youth each week across eight teams.

From September to May, players meet on Wednesdays at W.P. Bate Community School in Saskatoon for games, mentorship and community. The season includes roughly 40 regular-season games and playoffs, with teams competing for a replica Stanley Cup. YFCHL also organizes Bootcamp, a weekend retreat in Hepburn, Saskatchewan, featuring a team tournament, shared meals and opportunities to strengthen friendships. The organization welcomes participants, volunteers and donors, and provides registration and waiver information for its activities.
