The Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) is a regional network of non-governmental organizations operating in Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo. Established in 2003, YIHR is dedicated to promoting truth, justice, accountability, equality, freedom, democracy, and peace. Our primary focus is on educating the youth about the events and war crimes committed during the 1990s, as nationalist ideologies and celebrating war criminals still prevail in our society.

Through exchange programs, training programs, regional summits, and festivals, we have reached over 15,000 secondary school pupils, students, legal specialists, artists, journalists, and human rights activists. Over the years, we have published numerous reports, organized street actions, won multiple court cases, and played a crucial role in litigations of public importance. Our mission is to foster dialogue, cultural cooperation, and democratic reforms in the region.
