YLC, or the Young Leadership Council, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing leadership through community projects. Since its inception in 1986, YLC has made a significant impact on the city of New Orleans through various initiatives. They are responsible for founding the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, which has brought major sporting events to the city, resulting in an economic impact of over $1 billion.

YLC has also raised funds to add lights to the Mississippi River Bridge, created the iconic slogan New Orleans: Proud to Call it Home, and organized the Festival of Fins, a large-scale art display that raised over $550,000 for local non-profits. Additionally, YLC has been involved in adult literacy programs, public art displays, youth leadership development, and environmental initiatives like the Mardi Gras Recycling Initiative. With over 500 members and a dedicated board of directors, YLC continues to recruit and retain young professionals to New Orleans, making a positive impact on the region's quality of life.
