About
Description
Marsha T Danzig was a pioneer in the yoga world and the founder of Y4A: Yoga for Amputees. As a below the knee amputee, yoga therapist, and yoga teacher, she dedicated her teaching to making yoga accessible to anyone with limb loss or limb difference. Marsha's unique focus on treating amputees as whole people has helped shape the advancement of the yoga world to be more adaptive and inclusive for all.
Her efforts have influenced the community to become less didactic and more accommodating for those with limb loss or limitation. Unfortunately, Marsha passed away on January 8, 2022, due to complications from Covid-19, leaving the yoga and amputee communities mourning her loss. Despite her tragic passing, Marsha's legacy lives on through Y4A, which she established in 2008 to bring the healing benefits of yoga to the limb loss and limb difference community.
Today, Y4A continues to provide a vast network of resources and training programs for amputees and yoga teachers alike, with the aim of spreading inclusive yoga worldwide
