## Description

The Japan Meteorological Forecasters Association (JMFA) is a professional organization established in 1996, dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of meteorological professionals across various sectors. In 2004, it rebranded to its current name and achieved corporate status in 2009, solidifying its foundation and expanding its influence across the country with numerous local branches.

JMFA aims to improve the societal contributions of weather forecasters by promoting professional development through training programs and workshops. The association also partners with meteorological institutions to advance meteorological services and research. Members engage in activities that include public outreach and education on meteorological and disaster prevention knowledge, supporting the professional development of meteorological techniques, and enhancing the social status of weather forecasters.

Through initiatives such as the Certified Professional Development (CPD) program and collaboration with weather fairs, the JMFA strives to foster a community that shares expertise and promotes best practices in meteorology.
