## Description

The Yorkshire Geological Society is a registered UK charity dedicated to Yorkshire geology and related geoscience. It brings together members and non-members through a programme of indoor meetings, field trips and other events focused on the geology of Yorkshire and Northern England, as well as wider geoscience topics. The Society also shares information about events organised by other groups, helping people discover opportunities to learn and take part in the geological community.

Those interested can explore membership and get involved in the Society’s activities, including by volunteering or serving on its Council. The website provides details of upcoming events, community activities, awards and grants, and publications. Resources include PYGS, virtual field trips and guides, a Circular archive, and book sales. Visitors can also find links to geology-related information and corresponding societies.

The Society welcomes questions from prospective participants and members, who can contact its General Secretary for information or an informal conversation about helping out. The Yorkshire Geological Society is registered as a UK charity under number 220014.
