## Description

YPR (Young People in Recovery) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth and young adults in their recovery journeys from substance use disorders. Established in 2010, YPR emphasizes peer recovery support services and advocates for resources that reduce stigma around addiction. With 54 chapters across 19 states, YPR offers a range of programs including life-skills curriculum initiatives like "My Recovery Is EPIC" and specialized programs for various demographics, such as the Phoenix program for those involved in the criminal justice system.

YPR fosters a sense of community by organizing workshops on housing, education, and employment, as well as hosting all-recovery meetings that cater to diverse groups, including LGBTQ+ individuals and Spanish speakers. The organization is led by a committed team, including Executive Director Ann Herbst, and is guided by an independent board comprising recovery advocates and leaders in addiction prevention. YPR envisions a world where young people thrive in recovery, equipped with the skills and support they need to succeed.
