Young Social Innovators

Young Social Innovators (YSI) is a non-profit organization that empowers young people to use their talents, insights, passion, and creativity to come up with innovative solutions to social challenges. For over 21 years, YSI has been running engaging programs that support students in creating team-based action projects on issues they care about. Through these programs, young people put their innovative ideas into action, bringing about positive social change for the benefit of people, communities, and the environment.

By engaging with YSI, young people gain a voice and agency on the issues that matter to them and are given the opportunity to reimagine the world into one that is more caring, equal, and fair. YSI's vision is to inspire, empower, and equip Ireland's young people to change the world for the better. Their mission is to provide social innovation education that encourages young people to take action on social issues.

Through their network of engaged schools and Youthreach Centres, YSI supports around 15,000 young people each year in effecting positive change and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals. YSI provides training, resources, and platforms for young people to share their ideas and make their voices heard. They believe that every child can contribute to the work of a YSI team, and through their programs, young people learn to explore and understand their role as active, local, and global citizens working towards a fairer and more sustainable world
