## Description

YSCP (York Settlement Community Players) is a vibrant community theatre group that has been uniting theatre and people in York since 1919. The organization proudly produces a diverse range of modern and classic plays, showcasing talent in traditional venues like York Theatre Royal Studio and Theatre@41, as well as unconventional spaces throughout the city. With a history of nurturing performers, including the acclaimed Judi Dench, YSCP offers at least two annual productions and various engaging events, such as talks and workshops.

The Direct Approach project provides aspiring directors with a chance to helm new plays in a relaxed pub environment, while the group's improv ensemble, Unsettled, meets monthly to refine their improvisational skills. YSCP actively encourages participation from all, welcoming both newcomers and seasoned professionals into its inclusive community. Members can gain experience across key theatre roles, enriching their understanding of the performing arts. Join YSCP to be part of a legacy dedicated to fostering creativity and collaboration in the heart of York.
