## Description

Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm is a major renewable energy project located in the Taiwan Strait, approximately 8 to 17 kilometers off the western coast of Taiwan. Spanning an area of 82 square kilometers, it is home to 80 wind turbines, boasting a total installed capacity of 640 MW, making it one of Taiwan's largest offshore wind farms. The electricity generated is fed into the grid through two substations located in the Yunlin County townships of Taixi and Sihu. This project, backed by a robust consortium of local and international banks and export credit agencies, has signed two 20-year power purchase agreements with Taiwan Power Company, ensuring a stable supply of clean energy to local households. Annually, the wind farm is expected to produce approximately 2,400 GWh of electricity, significantly reducing carbon emissions by about 1.2 million metric tons and powering over 600,000 homes. Official commercial operations are set to commence in July 2025, underscoring the commitment to sustainable energy and long-term community value.
